South African Airways Virtual is a non-profit, global community based organisation, known as a 'virtual airline'. It has been in operations for a time now.

South African Airways Virtual creates an environment that offers individuals of all levels of expertise the opportunity to learn and enjoy a simulated airline experience. We all share a common passion for the South African Airways Brand and an interest for flight simulation.

👋🏻 Welcome! South African Airways Virtual was founded in January, 2020, and has made its way till now as a very experienced & professional virtual airline.

👨🏻‍✈️ FSouth African Airways Virtual is a new modern Virtual Airline. Since the biggining of 2020, we have been serving around one hundred national and international destinations from their Hubs which are Cape Town [FACT] & Johannesberg [FAOR], transporting half a million passengers. Our fleet is very diverse with a lot of fascinating liveries.

Airbus A320: The first member of the A320 family—the A320—was launched in March 1984, first flew on 22 February 1987. he A320 family pioneered the use of digital fly-by-wire flight control systems, as well as side-stick controls, in commercial aircraft.

Airbus A330: The Airbus A330 is a medium- to long-range wide-body twin-engine jet airliner made by Airbus. Versions of the A330 have a range of 5,000 to 13,430 kilometres and can accommodate up to 335 passengers in a two-class layout or carry 70 tonnes of cargo.

Apart from these, we have many more aircrafts in our fleet such as the Airbus A319, Airbus A340, Airbus A350 etc.

  • We provide a unique pilot experience by bringing together a strong, friendly community, advanced software and realistic policies and procedures. Combined, we are able to strike a balance between realism and simulation that focuses on making things as realistic as possible while making concessions for simulator limitations.

    Our constant innovation is driven by quarterly pilot feedback surveys help steer the next round of features to address requests or pain points that pilots are experiencing. The result is an ever evolving system designed with one goal: Improve the Pilot Experience.

  • Our goal is to continue growing and improving the pilot experience. South African Airways Virtual is powered by SAAvCrew, the world's most advanced pilot crew center, which is scheduled for updates in every 6 calendar months, because of this, our horizons towards cutting edge technology, flight simulation and pilot experience keeps expanding into the day

  • You can operate all the flights on our database without any restrictions.

  • In order to replicate the operations of SAAv Group as closely as possible, only flights available in the timetables are permitted to be flown.

  • We do our best to keep our timetables as up to date as possible. That said, we receive the initial schedule from South African Airways' Website and then adjust it a bit to take simulator limitations into account.

    We do two major updates a year: once for the Summer Schedule and once for the Winter Schedule. These updates include scheduled weekly changes that automatically adjust over time.

  • No, you may operate any flight at any real world time. While we do recommend setting the simulator time to match, it is not required. Additionally, there are bonuses for operating flights close to their real world time.
